Keep afterschool care affordable!

CCARP, Culver City’s most affordable afterschool program, is at risk of a significant fee increase.

A community member prepared this essential toolkit on affordable afterschool care in Culver City. City Council approved a 50% fee increase for CCARP — Culver City's most affordable after-school program for CCUSD elementary students — with a plan to raise fees 100% over two years. Because CCARP has kept other after-school programs cost-competitive, the increase could ripple far beyond CCARP families.

Council revisits the fees Monday, August 10. Staff is proposing a hardship subsidy, but it won't reach most families, and there's currently no recommendation to restore the original fee. Council needs to hear that affordable aftercare matters to this community.
