Culver City shows up for affordability

Our community showed its commitment to affordability solutions on Saturday by showing up at the Wende Museum and contributing to a vital discussion on how we make an impact for families, young people, seniors, working people, and anyone else who feels the pressure of rising costs in our day-to-day lives.

Close to 50 people attended the at-capacity event to hear about local solutions to increase housing supply, protect renters, lower transportation and childcare costs, and prevent health insurance premium spikes. These affordability challenges are the result of complex, structural issues in our country and aren’t going to be resolved overnight, but we discussed current, actionable steps we can take to make local improvements. Our Culver will continue to highlight these opportunities and we encourage you to contribute to solutions however you can.

Special thanks to our local elected officials including Culver City Mayor Freddy Puza and CCUSD Board President Stephanie Loredo who spoke at the event and shared their vision for affordability and financial stability for 2026 and beyond. Vice Mayor Bubba Fish attended the event and continued to demonstrate his commitment to deep community engagement.
