Your emails to the city are being noticed, and the city is responding. But some Parks Commission recommendations are still not being funded for his upcoming budget year.

There has been an outpouring of community support for parks funding in Culver City over the last few weeks.

At the May 20, 2024 budget meeting, the city announced more than $2 million in parks funding including, as the public demanded, new playgrounds at Culver West Alexander Park AND ongoing annual funding for playground maintenance.

But there are still two important items to support:

  • An additional parks Maintenance Worker

  • Fixes for ongoing issues at the Lindberg Park playground

An ongoing maintenance budget is important, but we also need sufficient staff to regularly inspect and maintain playgrounds, bathrooms, and other facilities.
