Ride with Bike Culver City & welcome new City Manager Odis Jones
Our friends in Bike Culver City are welcoming the new City Manager Odis Jones on Thursday Feb 12 with a group bicycle ride from City Hall to his “Let’s Talk, Culver City” community meeting at El Rincon Elementary School. We’ll gather at City Hall at 5pm and end the ride by 6pm. We invite you to join us for the ride, the meeting or both!
As our first new City Manager in 19 years, Odis Jones brings a fresh leadership perspective and experience to Culver City. In this role, Mr. Jones is responsible for overseeing all City Departments and staff, and working with the Culver City Council to implement its vision and legislative priorities.
“City Manager Odis Jones and I are building a strong, collaborative relationship built on trust, open communication, and a shared commitment to public service. It’s very important to me to have a City Manager who understands the importance of community voices in our City’s decision-making process because as Mayor, I don’t just want to listen, I want to act on the issues and needs we hear, and the City Manager is a key figure in delivering that action. I’m truly pleased that Odis has joined Culver City and grateful for the experience, leadership, and deep sense of community he brings to our work together”
Culver City is adding protected bike lanes, improving pedestrian safety and investing in alternatives to driving. As a leading advocate for safe streets, Bike Culver City is excited to work with City staff and officials to implement Vision Zero, the City’s plan to eliminate traffic deaths in Culver City.
